My Thoughts

This is a must buy for any reader or blogger, who like me uses an good old diary for blog tour dates and then for reviews, notes etc I use the notes on my phone.

Well this handy little log book has everything you could possibly want.

For starters 100 pages to log your reviews depending on your reading speed that could easily be a years worth of reviews in one fancy book all at your fingertips.

The first pages are for you to list your to be read which is a fantastic idea followed by monthly squares for listing book release dates again another brilliant idea, you will never forget a publication date again.

For the actual book review pages you have title and Author, date started and finished star rating a notes section to jot down all the important quotes names etc for your book and then the second section for writing your review, genius!!

A count of stars to colour in so you know when you hit that 50 mark within the log book and also a page of word clouds for those words that inspire you.

The log will let you know when you hit the magic 100 but that’s not all at the back there are pages of notes section which again is super handy.

This neat log book has totally transformed my blogging it is all in one place and the great thing it is set all in black and white so you can really jazz up your log book as much as you want there is so much you can colour in.

As I said at the start of this review this is a must buy for any avid reader and with Christmas just around the corner would make the most wonderful gift.

** BLOG TOUR ** The Family Man by Kimberley Chambers @kimbochambers @randomTTours

The queen of crime Kimberley Chambers is one of my favourite authors and was absolutely thrilled to be on the tour.

About The Book

Meet the Bonds

Kenny Bond is finally out of prison after doing a long stretch for killing a copper, and is determined to get back to life on the straight and narrow.

A family like no other

Kenny’s son Donny might lack his father’s edge but his twin grandsons, Beau and Brett – well, they are Bonds through and through. Like him, they won’t let anyone stand in their way.

But they’re about to meet their match

Family comes before everything else for Kenny, but there’s a feud brewing that could cause murder, and a new family on Dark Lane might bring the Bonds to their knees. Kenny’s determined that nothing, and no one, will threaten his family. But can the Bonds stick together when someone’s out to take them down?

You don’t want to be on the wrong side of this family.
A brand-new series from the queen of gangland crime

My Thoughts

It’s 1975 and Kenny Bond is banged up for 15 years for the manslaughter of a copper of all people longing to get home to his Sharon after getting parole Kenny is released in 1979.

Family is everything to Kenny and determined to go straight, can he??

This is a real page turner that will have you hooked from beginning to end.

This is a well plotted story, with the author managing to make all the characters stories fit so well, Brett and Beau his grandsons are the most evil twins you could ever wish for.

As with any Kimberley Chambers book you will know it’s never pretty, someone will always get hurt and it’s never a happy ending!

I was totally engrossed into the lives of the Bonds, Kenny gets himself into some right sticky situations but you can’t help but love him.

I am over the moon that this is just the beginning of the Bonds.

About The Author

A truly unforgettable character, Kimberley injects authenticity into her gritty gangland crime novels set around the east end.

She came to writing later in life,
having worked as a street trader (being promoted from tea girl to sales when she rugby-tackled a shoplifter), a DJ and a cabbie. Fed up of scraping a living, she set her mind to writing a novel, despite being laughed at by friends and family, who dubbed her ‘a female Del-Boy’.

But with her creative mind, colourful life experiences and memorable covering letter (‘Take a chance on me, you won’t regret it. This time next
year I’ll be wearing Prada, not Primark’), she quickly had five agents knocking at her door and a publishing contract. Fifteen novels and three Sunday Times number ones
later, she’s top of her game and an incredible inspiration.

** PROMO POST ** Falling in Louvre by Fiona Leitch @rararesources @fkleitch

About The Book

Falling in Louvre
‘A heartfelt, funny and romantic caper – a mashup masterpiece!’ – Sandy Barker, author of ‘That Night in Paris’.
Bertrand is King of the Pigeons…
Unofficially. From his perch atop a gargoyle on Notre Dame cathedral, he surveys his kingdom.

He sees Sylvie Cloutier, art lover and ex-antiques dealer, making dinner for her bullying husband Henri,
trapped in their loveless marriage like a bird in a gilded cage. He sees security guard, hopeless romantic and bookworm Philippe Moreau cycling through the streets of Paris in his crumpled uniform, late (again) for his night shift at the museum.

When Sylvie begs her husband to let her go to work, he gets her a job as an evening cleaner at the Louvre. He thinks such a menial position will dispel any ideas about independence she might have, but his plan backfires when she falls in love with kind, gentle Philippe.

They decide to run away together, but there’s a major problem: neither of them has any money. One stormy night in the Louvre, the answer to their prayers falls into their lap… But is it really the solution, or just another, even bigger problem?
What follows is a romantic, wistful but madcap adventure through (and under) the city of lights,
involving a stolen painting, an art heist in reverse, and Eric Cantona. Will love find a way?

** BLOG TOUR ** Her Rival by Emma Tallon @EmmaEsj @Bookouture

Delighted to be sharing my thoughs on Emma’s newest book, I have been a fan since day one.

About The Book

Scarlet Drew is new to London’s criminal underworld, but she’s hell bent on making a name for herself as joint head of the family firm alongside her aunt Lily. But when Scarlet finds herself alone with a rival business owner at a black-tie event, she is little prepared for what happens next.

Determined not to let the drunken lech get away with his crime, Scarlet hatches a plan for revenge – she’s going to steal his most valuable asset and put her name on the map. But as she gets to work, she fails to notice a silent stranger watching her every move. Someone knows exactly what she’s up to, and is plotting their own way to get their hands on the priceless goods.

Face to face with a new enemy, Scarlet fears the Drews may have finally met their match. With the whole family at risk, it’s going to take everything they have to stop their empire going up in smoke. But will everyone survive the fight?

Her Rival is a gripping and addictive crime thriller that has it all – strong women, explosive action and an ending that will have you gasping for breath!

My Thoughts

Book two into the world of the notorious Drew family.

Following on in the series Scarlet has taken over the family empire from her father Ronan working along side Aunt Lily.

After a night out Scarlet finds herself in a unforgettable position and seeks revenge on taking a masterpiece.

At just 18 Scarlet is very intelligent, ruthless and will do anything for family and along with Aunt Lily who is my favourite brings a strong female lead which brings this book to life.

‘Her Rival’ is an excellent fast paced gritty read that will keep you turning those pages into the small hours of the night.

With an explosive ending I am already counting down the days for the next installment.

About Emma

Emma Tallon is a British author of gripping, gritty, organised-crime thrillers and mother of two.

Having started her writing career as a freelance ghostwriter, Emma finished her first novel, Runaway Girl, in 2016, and became an author full time. ** PROMO POST ** Jane’s Away by Clare Hawken @rararesources @clarehawken #blogtour #promopost

My stop today on the tour I can’t wait to read this.

About The Book

Roger Kurmudge is rather smug about his affluent life and happy marriage. It’s just as well his wife, Jane, is totally in the dark about what he got up to in the past. But on his retirement day, Jane
disappears. Roger’s about to panic. Will he have to sell some shares or – heaven forbid! – the house in Bordeaux to pay a ransom demand? Worse – has Jane discovered his guilty secret? Then Jane’s emails start arriving. Take the dog to the vet. Look after grandson Alfie for the day. Do the washing, shopping and cooking. Host Christmas for the family. Roger doesn’t know why Jane’s gone but he’s sure he can manage her ‘women’s work’ without any trouble. Although it’s harder than it looks.

As the weeks go by and Jane stays away, Roger is forced to re-examine everything he thought he knew about his family, his life and himself. But even if Roger can change for the better, will Jane ever come back? Or has she, too, been keeping secrets of her own?

About The Author

Author Bio – Jane’s Away is my debut novel, although I have a couple of other manuscripts in a drawer. I live in Wiltshire with my family, three guinea pigs and a very stubborn springer spaniel, and when I’m not writing, I’m avoiding housework by hiding in a room, reading one of the many books on my TBR pile.

David draws up a list of all that he hopes to achieve to kick-start a new life now that his wife has moved in with his best friend – his ex-best friend. A relationship with Bridget is top of the list, opening an arts café is a close second.

Formidable women – an unfaithful wife, a reckless teenage daughter, a boss from hell, a disapproving policewoman – seem like insurmountable obstacles.

About The Book

Welcome to The Starfish Café – where you will find stunning views, delicious food and lifelong friendships.

Two broken hearts.

Since she inherited The Starfish Café, Hollie has poured her heart into the business, striving to keep her mother’s traditions and warm-hearted spirit alive. But behind closed doors Hollie is searching for true happiness, as she grieves the tragic loss of her family who were once the beating heart of the

An unexpected meeting

Jake lives by two rules: don’t let anyone get close and don’t talk about what happened. Little does he know that a chance meeting at The Starfish Café, facilitated by a fluffy lost dog, is about to turn his world upside down…

The chance to love again.

Can Hollie and Jake break down the barriers that have been holding them back from finding love and
happiness, before Christmas comes around? Afterall, with courage, nothing is impossible…

My Thoughts

We are back in the delightful Whitsborough bay and are introduced to a cast of new characters with a few oldies thrown in for good measure.

In this tale we meet Hollie who has inherited the Starfish Cafe and meets Jake who comes in with a cute lost dog Mr Pickles.

Both of them have traumatic pasts and form the most amazing friendship.

Jessica has that magical touch of writing such sensitive issues but in such a heartwarming way that you just want to plough through the pages with a tissue or two.

A book full of emotion, really lovely characters and a wonderful community within the bay.

I throughly enjoy my trips to the seaside and so wish it was a real place as the Starfish is one place I would love to visit.

I love how Jessica sends you on a rollercoaster of a journey and you read that last page with a big huge smile on your face.

I am a big fan of Jessica and love how I have now introduced my friends to her amazing stories.

If you are looking a feel good uplifting read then this is the perfect read for you.

** BLOG TOUR ** The New Friend by Alex Kane @AlexKaneWriter @HeraBooks @Zooloo2008 #blogtour #bookreview #TheNewFriend

Delighted today to share my thoughts on The New Friend by Alex Kane.

About The Book

Arabella MacQueen had a tough start to life. Growing up with an alcoholic mum, taken into care at the age of 8, getting into trouble as a teen, now she’s in her late-twenties and has turned her life around until the night of madness that sees her imprisoned for 10 months.

Little does she know that prison would be the turning point of her life.

Roxanne Barr quickly takes her under her wing, and the two women forge a friendship that lasts beyond the prison walls. Now Arabella is running her own hair salon and excited to see how her life of freedom looks, building a future with boyfriend Eddie and a friendship with Roxanne and her boyfriend, Jake. But Arabella doesn’t know the truth about Roxanne: her reputation as the head of Glasgow gangland, not afraid to turn to violence to keep her status. She doesn’t know that her new best friend is keeping secrets from her – and that she has plans for Arabella that might lead her into some very dangerous places.

In this dirty game, Arabella is going to have to learn you can’t always trust those closest to you.

My Thoughts

Arabella meets Roxanne when they share a cell for her 10 month stint in prison, Roxanne is doing a 10 stretch.

Becoming firm friends and besties for life on the outside, is this a recipe for disaster?

I absolutely love the strong characters and this is another fantastic gripping nail biting read from Alex.

Alex just gets better and better with every book she writes.

Full of tension throughout this will have you racing through the pages.

I really enjoyed this fast paced action packed read highly recommended
